CARIMI LIVE TOUR

How It All Started

Carimi is a renowned Haitian konpa band known for their infectious rhythms, captivating live performances, and dedication to preserving Haitian musical heritage.

Formed in the 2000s, Carimi has become a staple in the Haitian music scene, blending traditional konpa with modern styles and influences. The band's name, "Carimi," came from the founders names Ca (Carlo), Ri (Richard) and MI (Mickael). The word Carimi js derived from the Haitian Creole word for "piment," reflecting their spicy and energetic sound.

Throughout their career, Carimi has released several critically acclaimed albums, collaborated with top artists, and performed at numerous festivals and concerts worldwide. Their music often addresses themes of love, social justice, and Haitian culture.

With their unique sound, charismatic stage presence, and commitment to promoting Haitian music and culture, Carimi has earned a loyal following and solidified their position as one of the most respected and beloved Haitian bands today. Known for creating a new sound, one that was uncommon in the music industry at the time, the band found themselves putting on paper some profound, socially shared lyrics that encompassed the disorders of their native land. Haiti Bang, Bang, was released in the summer of 2001.

Instantly, after this hit album, Carimi became a household name. They are known as one of the first younger generation digital bands to put out music that reflected upon the political pressures and the deteriorating security of Haiti. They had mass appeal to the Haitian Diaspora who fled the country and through their allure lyrically, musically and of course sex appeal for the ladies, Carimi has thrived throughout the years.

In 2016 the singer Mickael Guirand decided to quit the band due to personal issues. The rest of the founding members decided to end their long journey and have gone on separate musical expeditions. In 2022 the band return for a 20th anniversary one day tour in Paris where they'll perform for the first time since the break up in 2016.

Close to a decade later, Carimi founders came together to offer their fans.
